Mustangs dominate Hot Dogs for first win

Completing a three game opening week, Fountain Central traveled to Frankfort on Saturday for a battle with the Hot Dogs. FC put together a dominating four quarters and was able to defeat the Hot Dogd 53-15 as the Mustangs and first-year coach Sammy Karr picked up their first win on the season.

Kacey Kirkpatrick led the Mustangs with 19 points in the win followed by Hannah Prickett who scored 13. KayLee Spragg rounded out the double figure scoring for FC as she scored 10.

Fountain Central improves to 1-2 on the season and will be back in action on Tuesday for their home opener as they welcome Clinton Central.

Mounties fall to Bulldogs on the road

Southmont, like the Mustangs also completed a three-game opening week on Saturday by traveling to take on Clinton Central. The Bulldgos were able to pull away in the second half for a 44-31 win over the Mounties.

After falling behind 11-7 after the first quarter, the Mounties trailed 20-18 at the half. The host Bulldgos then came out of the locker room to outscore the Mounties 24-13 over the final 16 minutes to pull away for the win.

Southmont falls to 1-2 on the season with the loss and will be back in action on Tuesday when they travel to take on North Vermillion.
