Gen. Lew Wallace Study celebrates Hoosier authors

The General Lew Wallace Study & Museum is hosting several regional authors for their fourth annual Lew Wallace Hoosier Author Fair. The public is invited 4-7 p.m. Nov. 30 to Fusion 54, 101 W. Main St., to meet almost 20 Hoosier authors and celebrate Small Business Saturday. Authors will have books for sale and are happy to sign copies and chat with readers.

“Previous author fairs have been held in the Carriage House, but facing a growing list of authors and limited space, we decided it just made sense to move it to Fusion54,” said event organizer Stephanie Cain. “I hope we can continue growing this event over the years. I’m very grateful to Visit Montgomery County and Crawfordsville Main Street, as well as Dale Petrie, for helping us make this possible.”

Author guests will include historian and biographer Ray E. Boomhower and former Indiana Poet Laureate Shari Wagner. Local romance author Alison Bliss will be signing copies of her books, as will baseball mystery writer Jeff Stanger. Inspirational author Kelly O’Dell Stanley and children’s author Rebecca Stanton will also be in attendance. Contemporary fiction author Benjamin W. Bass is attending.

Mystery is well-represented by authors L. Barnett Evans, C.V. Rhodes, Garrett Hutson and M.K. Scott. Speculative fiction rounds out the selection with fantasy authors Laura VanArendonk Baugh, Michele Israel Harper, A.J. Bass, and Savannah Goins, and science fiction/fantasy author Jim Thompson. Montgomery County authors participating include Jim Barnes, Jim Capehart, Alison Bliss, Kelly O’Dell Stanley, and Stephanie A. Cain.

This event is made possible through a grant from Indiana Humanities in cooperation with the National Endowment for the Humanities, as well as a grant from the Montgomery County Community Foundation. Crawfordsville Main Street, Downtown Party Night and Visit Montgomery County have also helped make this event happen.

The Hoosier Author Fair is free and open to the public.
