Gerald Franklin “Frank” Grimes, 69, of Crawfordsville passed away at 4:35 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2020, at Ben Hur Health & Rehab in Crawfordsville.
Frank was born Feb. 10, 1951, at Tillamook, Oregon, the son of Robert Gene Grimes Sr. and Eloise Grimes.
He is preceded in death by son Daniel Trent Grimes; parents, Robert and Eloise; adoptive mother Anna Lucille (Smith) Grimes; two brothers, Robert Gene Grimes Jr. and Roger Dale Smith; and sister Lisa Lou Grimes.
Surviving family include: daughter Tamera (Raydal) Omundson, Bloomingdale; two sons, Franklin Dean (Rebecca Elaine) Grimes, Tangier, and Travis Franklin Grimes, Crawfordsville; four brothers, Rick Grimes, McKinley, California, Dennis (Nancy) Grimes, Longview, Texas, Scott Grimes, Hillsboro and James Frey, Cleveland, Ohio; three sisters, Marlene K. Grimes, Crawfordsville, Denise (Dennis) Starkey, Covington, and Robin (Tim) Grimes-Howard, Aubrey, Texas; three grandchildren, Brandon Omundson, Levi Omundson and Clayton James Crowder; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Frank enjoyed being outdoors hunting ginseng and mushrooms, and he enjoyed fishing in nearby rivers and Sugar Creek. He also loved and enjoyed his family very much. Faith in God had also become very important to Frank recently in his life.
Dickerson Funeral Home is assisting the family, and per Frank’s request there will be no public services.
