The Montgomery County Youth Service Bureau JUMP program is always looking for people who want to mentor a child. The need is great for positive, adult role models to mentor a child currently on the program’s waiting list.
One of those children is a 10-year-old girl named Gabby. She has been on the waiting list for five months.
Gabby’s mother described her as an energetic child who does well in school and loves doing anything outdoors including volleyball and gymnastics. She said Gabby also likes to do artsy things like crafts, painting and drawing. Her mom describes her as crazy, active and loving. Her mom would love for her to have a mentor because she is the only girl out of four children and needs some positive one-on-one attention.
Gabby said she loves gymnastics and would love to be a gymnast or a teacher when she grows up. Someday she hopes to be the President of the United States. She really wants to run the United States and change bad laws into good ones.
When asked what she liked to do for fun, she said she loves sports, exercising and gymnastics as well as cooking, baking and doing craft activities. She loves animals, especially pigs.
Gabby is easy to talk to and excited at the possibility of getting a mentor. A perfect match for Gabby would be someone who likes the same things and who is active.
If you believe you would be a good match for Gabby, contact Jill Hampton at 765-362-0694, ext. 103, or email email@example.com.
