Glenda W. Davis, 82, of Waveland passed away Thursday, Sept. 16, 2021.
She was born May 25, 1939, at Alamo, to the late Wilburn and Violet (Rivers) Long. On June 9, 1957, at Ladoga, she married Ruford “Jr.” Davis. He preceded her in death Dec. 8, 2020.
Glenda graduated from Ladoga High School in 1957. She was a member of Freemont Baptist Church. Glenda taught school and worked in some local restaurants, but what mattered most to her was taking care of her family. Being a wife, mother and homemaker was her passion. She also enjoyed writing poetry, drawing and animals. She will be missed greatly by those left to cherish her memory.
She is survived by children, Janeen (Joe) Proctor, Sondra (Terry) Gleason, Rosalind Neal, Daniel Davis and Samuel Davis; nine grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; several siblings; step-sister; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son Eric; two brothers; and one sister.
Funeral service will be at noon Tuesday, Sept. 21 at Machledt & Servies Funeral Home, 301 E. Green St., Waveland, with Pastor Dan Aldridge officiating. Burial will follow in Old Union Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
