Helen Denham Johnson, 77, of Lafayette passed away Friday, May 13, 2022, at Crawfordsville.
Helen was born Sept. 15, 1944, at Tazewell, Tennessee, to Lonnie and Lillian (Treece) England.
Mrs. Johnson was employed by Purdue in the housekeeping department and retired after 27 years. She was also a member of the East Tippecanoe Baptist Church.
On Sept. 28, 2006, she married Ronald L. Johnson in Montgomery County, Indiana, and he survives.
Helen was a caregiver for her husband. She enjoyed reading, playing solitaire and other card games, playing ball and horseshoes.
In addition to her husband, surviving are her children, Charles Denham Jr. of Lafayette, Timothy Denham of Battleground, Patrick (Rebecca) Denham of Ft. Wayne and Wesley (Abby) Denham of Kempton; six sisters, Mary Lou Lundy, Lucy (Chuck) Easterday, Ruth Gulley, Thelma (Dennis) Taylor, Omey (Jack) Kendall and Norma Sue England; and three brothers, Floyd (Carol) England, Bobby (Dee) England and Danny (Mary Ann) England. Also surviving are step-children, Tracy (Cheryl) Johnson, Larry (Amy) Johnson, Laura (Rob) Nantis, Trina (Randy) Hutchison, Keri (Kevin) Knee and Bryan (Lois) Johnson, all of Crawfordsville. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Along with her first husband, Charles Denham Sr., Helen is preceded in death by her parents, and a son, William Denham.
Visitation will be held 3-7 p.m. Wednesday, May 18 at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 7 p.m. Officiating will be Pastor Mary Hartman.
