Heninger leads Mounties to county gymnastics title

NEW MARKET — Brianna Heninger swept each event at the Montgomery County gymnastics meet on Monday night, lifting Southmont to the team title with 88.075, Crawfordsville was second at 79.925 points and North Montgomery third with 73.975.

Heninger won the vault with a score of 8.3, the bars with a mark of 8.05, and the balance beam with a score of 7.925. She won the floor exercise with a score of 8.3. Her all-around score was 32.575 — four points better than Crawfordsville’s Halle Elliott, who was the runner-up. Chaney Scott was third in the all-around for the Mounties with a score of 27.525. She was second on the beam with a score of 7.45, third on the floor exercise with a 7.35 and fifth on the vault with a 7.45.

Southmont’s Ella Watson was second on the vault with an 8.0 and second in the floor exercise with a 7.725. She was also sixth on the balance beam with a 6.35. Watson placed third in the all-around with a 26.725. Abigail Korhorn was third on the vault with a score of 7.75 and fifth on the bars with a 5.525. Jessie Bradley was fourth on the vault with a score of 7.55.

North Montgomery’s Maggie Yeager was fifth in the all-around with a score of 26.225. She was third on the bars with a score of 5.95, fourth on the vault with a 7.55 and sixth in the floor exercise with a score of 7.0. Derricka Jeffers was third on the balance beam with a 7.0.

Elliott had an all-around score of 28.55 for the Athenians. She was second on the bars with a 7.05, third on the vault with a 7.75, and fourth on the balance beam with a 7.3. She was also fourth in the floor exercise with a score of 7.3. Parker Hartman placed sixth on the vault with a score of 7.425, while Christen Saunders was fifth on the balance beam with a 6.375. Sidney Robbins was fourth on the bars with a 5.6 and Olivia Fichter sixth on the bars with a 5.45.
