Henry A. Meadows, 80, of rural Covington passed away at 11:55 a.m. Saturday Jan. 16, 2021, at his residence, with his family at his side.

Henry was born Nov. 26, 1940, at Danville, Illinois, the son of Eugene Wayne and Mildred Ona (Stevenson) Meadows. He married Nancy K. Galloway on June 6, 1965, at the First Baptist Church, Covington.

Surviving family includes his wife, Nancy K. Meadows, Covington; two sons, Curt (Angela) Meadows, Crawfordsville, and Doug (Debbie) Meadows, Covington; and a grandson Logan C. Meadows.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Henry graduated from Perrysville High School in 1960. After high school he served his country in Navy. He was employed at Hyster in Danville, Illinois, for over 30 years prior to his retirement in 2001.

He was very active in his son’s lives as they were growing up, many remember him as the Boy Scout Leader of Troop #269 in Perrysville. He served on the board that helped build the town park in Perrysville, and he was a board member and caretaker of Lower Mound Cemetery near Perrysville. He was also a member of American Legion Post#350 in Perrysville.

Henry enjoyed spending time at his lake house at Lake Hideaway. He enjoyed IU Basketball, and for many years he enjoyed the fishing trips to Canada with his large group of friends that became known as the “OHB” gang.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. p.m. (EST) Wednesday, Jan. 20 at Dickerson Funeral Home, Veedersburg. A graveside service with military honors will be held at Lower Mound Cemetery at a later date.
