HIGH SCHOOL SCOREBOARD: Chargers swept by Bison

The North Montgomery boys’ and girls’ swimming and diving teams both dropped meets to Benton Central on Tuesday evening. The boys lost 92-65, and the girls were defeated 88-81.

The team of Madelynn Mershon, Rachel Fedor, Jessica Dittmer, and Sidney Campbell won the 20 freestyle relay in a time of 1:55.84, while Mershon, Jaida Clark, Dittmer, and Maggie Michael raced to a win in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 4:26.09.

Individual winners on the girls side included Mershon in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:29.51, while Michael won the 200 individual medley in 2:36.13, and Campbell won the 100 butterfly in 1:07.69. Michael also won the 500 freestyle in 6:17.8, while Campbell won the 100 breaststroke in 1:14.84.

The foursome of Jamason Burget, Caleb Cochran, Ben Eldridge, and Kaden Ervin won the 400 freestyle relay in a time of 4:18.74.

Individual winners for the boys included Ervin in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:40.73, and the 100 freestyle in 1:00.33. Burget also won the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:09.8.

Mounties sweep ‘Dogs

Southmont boys’ and girls’ swimming and diving teams swept Sagamore Conference foe Frankfort on Tuesday night, while Jordan Stanley broke her own diving record and reset the pool record with a mark of 228.1.

The girls won easily 131-52, while the boys won 91-84.

The foursome of Aubrey Jones, Suzi Pedro, Emma Tyler, and Bailey Barker won the 200 medley relay with a time of 2:10.11, while Pedro and Barker teamed up with Megan and Jane Scheidler for a win in the 200 freestyle relay in 1:56.31. Jones, Tyler, and both Megan and Jane Scheidler paced the Mounties in the 400 freestyle relay win with a time of 4:15.79.

Individual winners on the girls side included Megan Scheidler in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:14.13, while Tyler won the 200 individual medley in 2:22.46, and Jane Scheidler won the 50 freestyle in 26.61 seconds. Jones took home the win in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:16.7, while Jane Scheidler also won the 100 freestyle in 58.85 seconds. Megan Scheidler also won the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:58.19, while Tyler won the 100 backstroke with an effort of 1:10.00, and Pedro won the 100 breaststroke in 1:24.76.

On the boys side the foursome of John Zimmerman, Logan Harman, Trent Jones, and Karter Blankenship won the 200 medley relay in a time of 2:00.55, while Harman, Eyan Endiott, Blankenship, and Gavin Waddell won the 200 freestyle relay in a time of 1:50.32. Jones, Waddell, Zimmerman, and John Servies also teamed up for a win in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:57.41.

Individual winners included Waddell in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:10.86, while Jones won the 50 freestyle in 24.62 seconds, and the 100 butterfly in 1:00.54. Zimmerman won the 100 freestyle in 54.47 seconds, and the 100 backstroke in 1:07.73.

Athenians split with Tiger Sharks

The Crawfordsville boys’ and girls’ swimming and diving teams split with Lebanon on Tuesday night.

The boys won 122-63, while the girls fell 119-66.

The foursome of Evan Chaney, Cameron Nordenbrock, Hunter Conrad, and Joseph Sanchez won the 200 medley relay in a time of 1:55.74, while Marshall Horton, Thristan Callejas, Ben Brown, and Jack Pendleton won he 200 freestyle relay in 1:38.65. Pendleton, Callejas, Conrad, and Brown teamed up for the win in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:44.31.

Individual winners included Callejas in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:57.48, and Horton in the 200 individual medley with a mark of 2:17.24. Brown won the 50 freestyle in 23.96 seconds, while Callejas also won the 100 butterfly in 57.72 seconds. Brown raced to the win in the 100 freestyle in 53.27 seconds. Evan Chaney won the 100 backstroke in 1:01.36, while Horton won the 100 breaststroke in 1:08.35.

On the girls side, Trinity Deck won the diving portion with a mark of 147.65.

Mounties win big over Cougars on mat

The Southmont wrestling team traveled to North Putnam and came away with a 57-15 win over the Cougars.

Clayton Downey won by fall over Corie Stancombe at 113, while Gerald Hutson picked up a first period pin over Matthew Parker at 126.

Dillan Lauy defeated Dylan Murphy 8-2 at 138, while Takeshi Greiner picked up a win by injury default at 145. Isaiah McMasters won by fall over Cameron Hankins at 160, while Ty Welliever pinned Alex Hoke at 170, and Riley Woodall pinned Seth Ariens at 182. Collin Martin also picked up a first period fall at 195 over Randy Willoughby. Ethan Himes pinned Seth Fuhrman in the second period at heavyweight. Noah Benge also won by forfeit at 120.

Mustangs drop WRC matchup

The Fountain Central girls' basketball team dropped a Wabash River Conference battle to Seeger 58-13. Dakota Borman led the Mustangs with five points.
