INDIANAPOLIS —The Indiana Athletic Trainers Association has selected Isaac Hook, LAT, ATC as one of three recipients of the IATA Professional Excellence Award. Isaac receiveD his award at the IATA’s Annual Business Meeting and Clinical Symposia in Carmel on July 24.

Hook has been a long-time secondary school athletic trainer serving at North Montgomery High School. His philosophy statement, “I believe that every person can benefit from the healthcare provided by an athletic trainer. Through specialized training, evidenced-based best practice, and personal compassion, I can help prevent, treat, and rehabilitate a multitude of injuries related to active lifestyle” perfectly encapsulates why he received this recognition. Hook has served as a role model for his colleagues, AT students for which she serves as a preceptor, and as an example of what an AT should be to those that may be unfamiliar with our profession.

The IATA Professional Excellence Award is given to an individual who has demonstrated excellence through their work and service. To be eligible for this award a person must be an Indiana state licensed athletic trainer, be active in advancing and supporting the profession of athletic training, should make contributions to healthcare in Indiana, and be a well-respected member of their community.
