Hubert J. Danzebrink of Crawfordsville passed away Sunday night, Sept. 19, 2021, at home. He was 88.
Born March 27, 1933, at Duisberg, Germany, he was the son of Maria and Heinrich Danzebrink. He married Dorothy Kohl in 1961. They were blessed with three children, Norbert (Rhonda), Rita (Mark) and Eric; and five grandchildren, Alexander, Ellen, Jonathan, Brady and Brenna.
Hubert was a very active, service minded naturalized American citizen, serving on city boards, including Crawfordsville School Board, two terms, Crawfordsville Kiwanis Club, Boy Scouts, where he earned the Silver Beaver Award, Knights of Columbus, Jaycees, as well as membership and service at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church. His biggest commitment was to his family, he would have been married 60 years this October.
Everyone knew Hubert as the “clock maker.” He got his training in Germany, then for a time worked in Switzerland, before coming to Crawfordsville. He could repair anything or answer your questions about a watch or clock.
Memorial mass will be held at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church on Oct. 14, with visitation from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and services starting at 11 a.m. Inurnment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations are made to either the Knights of Columbus; Shriner’s Hospital for Children; or Franciscan Hospice.
