Investigation continues into death of woman found on bridge

Authorities continued their investigation into the death of a woman whose body was found Thursday on a bridge west of Crawfordsville.

An autopsy was being conducted on the woman, said Montgomery County Sheriff Ryan Needham. The victim’s name has not been released.

Michael Dale Parks, 44, was arrested and booked into the Montgomery County Jail on Thursday afternoon on a preliminary charge of murder in connection with the case. Parks has yet to be formally charged.

A 911 caller reported finding the body just after 4 a.m. Thursday on the bridge on C.R. 225W over Sugar Creek. Investigators believe the body was placed there as much as three hours earlier.

Crawfordsville Police and the Indiana State Police are also investigating the case.
