Investigators: Electrical problems not ruled out in fire

Electrical problems cannot be ruled out in a fire that destroyed a Crawfordsville-area barn Tuesday, Fire Chief Scott Busenbark said.

The Indiana State Fire Marshal’s Office has completed the investigation into the blaze in the two-story barn on East Traction Road that contained a residence on the first floor.

No one was injured in the fire, but a firefighter was treated for heat-related illness at the scene and three others were monitored. Temperatures were climbing into the upper 80s with high humidity levels as crews battled the fire.

The blaze caused an estimated $40,000-$50,000 in damage to the building, Busenbark said.
