Jackie Jackson, 56, passed away in a motor vehicle accident Monday, Jan. 4, 2021.
She was born Feb. 27, 1964, at Danville, Illinois. She married Bryan Jackson on Feb. 18, 1984.
Jackie leaves behind her husband, Bryan; their daughters, Brandi (Nickolas) Groves and Tara (Levi Bradley) Jackson; six grandchildren, Dylan “Dill Pickle” Groves, Braden “Bray-Donn” Groves, Landon “LA” Groves, Logan “Logi Bear” Albertson, Indeya “Sunshine Rose” Albertson and Arabella “Bella Boo” Jackson; as well as two bothers and two sisters.
Jackie was preceded in death by her father, Dale Juvinall; her mother-in-law aka mom, Violet A. Cockrell; and her father-in-law, Larry A. Cockrell.
Jackie held various jobs throughout her life and spent the last 18 years as an employee of Homegoods Distribution. This job was very fitting because decorating her home was one of her biggest passions and seeing all the different items coming through just filled that passion. She loved to spend her days hunting for that perfect treasure and browsing the prom and wedding dresses at antique shops and Goodwill. Jackie was a great gift giver and she always had a place in mind she wanted you to put the gift she was giving you. Halloween was one of her top Holidays to celebrate and she loved to dress up and participate in her company costume contest, which she often won. Jackie also had a passion for flower gardening and cared for lots of plants. Nature was a favorite place for her to spend her days. She loved cozy sweaters, hats, instant coffee, oatmeal, and fruit every morning, candles, collecting nutcrackers and China, and caring for her animals; two dogs, Ray and Blue; two cats, Sophie and Baby; and wild birds outside that always had to be fed as well.
She made sure her home was warm, welcoming and filled with love. Sunday dinners with her family was a common occurrence as well as crafting and baking with her grandkids. I think she loved Sunday dinners the most because it was a way to get her son in laws to move the things around her house which was of course always awkward and heavy.
Jackie was a dedicated wife, mother and grandma first and foremost, she treasured her family and embraced every moment. She and her husband Bryan loved to just get in the car or motorcycle and see where the road led them. Many times, it would lead them to random fields and creeks, finding the beauty in abandoned houses and to Pennsylvania to spend time with her daughter, son in law and grandkids. Jackie loved growing old with Bryan and spent 43 amazing years with him. Their marriage is a wonderful testament to how loved and amazing she was.
Jackie had a vivacious personality and was never without a smile. Her laughter was infectious and will be remembered for years to come. She loved the Lord and is now embraced in his arms as well as those that preceded her in death. Jackie’s early departure from this world leaves a huge hole in our hearts and lives. She will be missed by friends, family and especially her grandkids, daughters, sons in law and her husband.
A celebration of life service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 11 at the Southside Church of the Nazarene, 1629 King St, Tilton, IL 61833. Officiating will be Pastor Jeremy McLaughlin. Visitation will be held just prior to the service from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the church. Per Jackie’s wishes cremation rites will be accorded following the service. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville has been entrusted with arrangements.
