James L. “Jim” Bartlett of Linden passed away on the evening of Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2021.
Born Nov. 4, 1953, at Crawfordsville, he was the son of Joseph and Elizabeth Thompson Bartlett.
Jim worked for 25-plus years at Purdue University. He loved to spend his days hunting, fishing and enjoying the great outdoors. He could always be found visiting with friends or chasing around grandchildren.
Jim is survived LaVonne Bartlett, mother of his four sons, Timothy of Crawfordsville, Jeremy (Robyn) of Linden, James of Crawfordsville and Andrew (Kristy) of Elkhart. He is also survived by his mother, Elizabeth Bartlett of Crawfordsville; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three brothers, Billy of Linden, Rick of New Richmond and Scott of Las Vegas, Nevada; and two sisters, Peggy Miller of Waldorf, Maryland, and Kimberly Van Matre of Crawfordsville.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Bartlett; his brother Michael; his sister, Brenda Bartlett; and his infant sister Penny Sue Bartlett.
A walk-through visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until a private family service at noon Wednesday, Feb. 17, at Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, Linden. Shawn Evans will officiate. Due to COVID-19, masks are required and social distancing will be practiced. Interment will be in Linden Cemetery.
