James Lee Oakley, 76, of Crawfordsville passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2025.
Jim was born Dec. 13, 1948, at Crawfordsville, to James A. Oakley and Edna M (Hagler) Oakley.
Jim served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Navy. After serving his country Jim worked and retired from RR Donnelly.
He is survived by his mother, Edna M. Oakley; his six children, Christy L. Demoret, Jeremy J. Demoret (Crystal), James C. Oakley (Maggie), Elisabeth M. Lyon (Larry), Charles G. Demoret (Amanda) and Brody A. Oakley (Talissa); 25 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marty E. Brown (Hal) and Mary R. Holt (Daryl); several nieces and nephews; and his wife, Sherrie K. Oakley.
He was preceded in death by his father, James A. Oakley; his first wife, Chris Garr; and his sister, Joy Rush.
According to Jim’s wishes cremation was chosen and a memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 29, at Servies & Morgan Funeral and Cremation Services, 203 N. Washington St., Ladoga, with Bob Vice officiating. Visitation will be from noon until the time of service at the funeral home.
