Janina “Jina” Gaskill-Cloud of Waveland passed away Monday night, May 19, 2025, at home. She was 58.
Jina liked listening to music, crafting, crocheting and reading. She was a member of Rock Point Church, Phi Theta Kappa and CIW web professionals. She worked at Acuity Lighting as a group leader and union steward, then at Tri-County Bank as a teller and a notary.
Born June 14, 1966, she was the daughter of James Gaskill and Janet L. Bennett. She was raised by her mother and David Lee Bennett. She graduated from Southmont High School and Ivy Tech, where she earned an associate degree in information systems, specializing in web design.
Surviving family includes: mother Janet Bennett of New Market; six children, Jamie Buhrmester of Waveland, Renee (Justin) Craft of New Ross, Seth Stockton of New Ross, Kaitlyn Cloud of Crawfordsville, Johnathan Cloud of Evansville and Matthew Cloud of Veedersburg; two sisters, Crystal Bennett and Jennifer Meadows, both of New Market; nieces, Ashley and Addison Meadows; two nephews, Kyle and Casey Meadows; 10 grandchildren, along with two on the way.
She was preceded in death by both of her dads, James Gaskill and David Bennett; two cousins, Nanette Ware and Roberta Childers; and uncle Bill Simpson.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 24 at Burkhart Funeral Home. Services will begin at 1 p.m., led by Pastor Jeff Hoenshell. After the service, she will be laid to rest at the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
