Jerry Brennan of Crawfordsville passed away Saturday night, Feb. 15, 2020, at the age of 88.

Jerry was a hard worker, with 42 years at RR Donnelley, 10 at Wabash College, and also delivering flowers for Earthworks. He played Santa Claus for many years and appeared in the Crawfordsville parade for 20 years. He is best remembered for his fondness of visiting with people socially and checking in with them regularly. He also liked collecting things, high school football and Wabash football.

He was a member of the Smartsburg Christian Church and American Legion. He served in the Air Force from February 1951 to September 1952 in Korea.

Born July 12, 1931, at Ladoga, he was the son of W. Raymond Brennan and Thelma Roberts Brennan. He graduated from Ladoga High School. He married Nancy Dawson Carlile on Sept. 15, 1983. She survives.

Surviving family includes: wife Nancy of Crawfordsville; his children, Jolly Fishero of Crawfordsville, Todd Brennan of Ft. Wayne, Bob Brennan of Zionsville and Craig Brennan of Ft. Wayne; and Nancy’s children, Lindsay Carlile of Crawfordsville, Suzanne Dennis and Judy Carlile, both of Indianapolis, Joe Carlile of Crawfordsville and Paula Noesges of Indianapolis. Together, they have 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by son Gerald Raymond Brennan in 1979; brother Fred; and twin sister Joanne Dice.

Visitation will be 3-6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20 at Burkhart Funeral Home with a service at 6 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations are to the Montgomery County Animal Welfare League, 1104 Big Four Arch Road, Crawfordsville, or the charity of your choice.
