Jerry W. Voorhees, 66, of rural Veedersburg passed away 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14, 2022, at his residence with his family at his side.
Jerry was born Feb. 11, 1956, at Crawfordsville, the son of Wilbur Dean and Barbara Lucille (Cox) Voorhees. He married Jo Anne Evans on Feb. 28, 1975, at Attica.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Larry Richard Voorhees and Thomas Ray Voorhees; and infant brother Robert Dale Voorhees.
Surviving family include: his wife, Jo Anne Voorhees, Veedersburg; two sons, Jeremy Wayne Voorhees, Veedersburg, and Jered Lee (Christine Kelley) Voorhees, Williamsport; daughter Jessica Lynn (Charles Sellers) Voorhees, Iroquois, Illinois; three brothers, James Dean Voorhees, Crawfordsville, Dale Michael (Deb) Voorhees, Veedersburg, and Daniel Joe Voorhees, Veedersburg; two sisters, Betty Jane (Mike) Garland, Texas, and Mary Ann (Gary) Townsend, Crawfordsville; and two grandchildren, Tiffany Marie (Prasanna) Acharya, and Baylin Paige (Kailee Richardson) Voorhees.
Jerry graduated from Fountain Central High School in 1974; where he enjoyed playing football. He was employed at Fleetwood Travel Trailers for 34 years, and Crown Cork & Seal for seven years; both in Crawfordsville. He enjoyed family camping trips around the area; including one camping trip to California. He also enjoyed fishing, small game hunting, working in the yard and tending to the flowers.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17 at Dickerson Funeral Home, Veedersburg. Funeral service is at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18 at the funeral home, with Pastor Gary Johnson officiating. Burial will follow service at Rockfield Cemetery near Veedersburg.
