Joe Case of Crawfordsville passed away at home Friday night, July 23, 2021, at the age of 78.

Joe was a lead machinist for RR Donnelley for 43 years, where he loved his work. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force as a missile technician. He was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church and past member of the Jaycees, Eagles and Knights of Columbus. He loved fishing, bowling, woodworking and square dancing. He also collected model trains and airplanes.

Born May 27, 1943, at Rockville, he was the son of James Warren Case and Lenore Martin Case. He graduated from Rockville High School. He married Carol Mitchell on April 24, 1965, at Plattsburgh, New York.

Surviving family includes: wife Carol Case; three sons, Stephen (Jenny) Case, Brad (Kelsey) Case and Matt (Kim) Case; daughter Stefanie (Adam) Deaton; two sisters, Karen (Bill) Duval and Jennifer Holland; seven grandchildren, whom he loved very much, Tristan, Sarah, McKenzie, Reagan, Kadin, Alexandria and Mitchell; one precious great-granddaughter, Everleigh.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Jim Case.

Memorial mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the start of services. Burial with military rites will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
