John Wilson, 87, was reunited with his beloved wife Shirley on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2024.
John was a life-long resident of Montgomery County. He was a Donnelly’s retiree, co-owned two Shell service stations, and built the Lindy Freeze for Shirley to operate.
A fascination with all things mechanical led John to race cars, ride motorcycles, and pilot airplanes. John worked with Jack French Racing for 10 years and ultimately hand built a 1950’s Indy style roadster.
John is survived by three children, Andrew (Constance) of Winterville, North Carolina, Teresa (Tom) of Crawfordsville and Molly (David) of Brownsburg; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and two nephews.
John’s quick wit and vast repertoire of jokes will be missed by all who knew him. He was much-loved and admired by many.
No services are planned.
