Joseph A. Catterson, 78, of Crawfordsville, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Franciscan Health Crawfordsville.
Joe was born Jan. 14, 1946, at Vermillion County Hospital in Clinton, Indiana, to the late Charles and Ruth (Hutts) Catterson. He graduated from Turkey Run High School and worked at RR Donnelley in Crawfordsville for 44 years before retiring in 2009.
Joe’s legacy lives on through his loving family. He was married to his beloved wife, Diana (Miles) Catterson, for 59 years. They have three sons, Billy (Marsha) Catterson, Gary Catterson and Rodger (Matilda) Catterson and daughter Twilla (Roger) Gilbert; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He also is survived by sister Linda Rawlings, brother Paul Catterson, three nieces, three nephews, three great-nieces and a great-nephew.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Wilma Busenbark and Patsy Stewart.
Joe was a 37-year member of the Masonic Lodge. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved fishing and canoeing and enjoyed visiting Branson, Missouri, with Diana every year to celebrate their anniversary. However, Joe’s greatest joy came from spending time with his children and grandchildren, creating memories that will forever echo with love and laughter.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 14 at Hunt & Son Funeral Home, with Jeff Blankenship officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery North. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday, May 13 at the funeral home.
