Judith Lynne Blue Wilcox passed away Jan. 25, 2025, at Ben Hur Nursing and Rehabilitation Home. She was 85.

She was born April 2, 1939, in Lafayette, to Arthur Leonard and Louise Elizabeth Nichelson Blue. On May 21, 1956, she married the love of her life, Allen Wilcox, he survives.

Judy was the Assistant Jail Chaplain for many years and on the Board of Directors for the Trinity Mission. She was instrumental in acquiring the County Home and renovating it into Trinity Mission. Judy loved to quilt and crochet. She liked to fish and her biggest accomplishment was that of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Judy was a former member of the Darlington Christian Church and current member of Four-Square Church.

Surviving family includes, husband Allen Wilcox; daughter Jacqueline (Hobert) Mennen; son Terry (Maria) Wilcox; grandchildren, Benjamin (Laura) Wilcox, Gregory (Laken) Wilcox, Adriene (Zachary) Jeffers, Victoria Mennen, Clayton Mennen and Rebekah Goodmen; 10 great-grandchildren with one on the way; and brother Jim Blue.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son Joseph Allen Wilcox; and brother Dick Blue.

Visitation for Judith Wilcox will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29 at Burkhart Funeral Home, 201 W. Wabash Ave. Services will begin at 1 p.m., with Pastor Bruce White officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery North.
