Every year the JUMP program invites all program members to an evening of celebration, appreciation, dinner and a show. This year was no exception and after a dinner of pizza and pasta, Silly Safari performed with an array of animals and reptiles that had adults and kids alike, laughing out loud.

“The banquet is important because it is the time of year that the JUMP staff can thank the mentors and their mentees for being a part of the JUMP program,” said Jill Hampton, program manager. “Without all of them and their kind hearts, the JUMP program would not exist. It is amazing to see how much the kids have grown each year and to see what great young adults they are turning out to be. It is also a time to show appreciation for the volunteers in the program because we know they give so much of their time and their hearts.”

The JUMP program consists of adult volunteers and youth from the community that get together on a regular basis to do fun things and share new experiences.

“It is a great way to support our youth and help guide them to make good decisions and better their futures,” Hampton said. “All families can use some extra help and support so mentoring youth is so important.”

The JUMP program is always looking for volunteers to mentor the youth as well as children ages 6-14 to become mentees in the program. To volunteer or to recommend a child who could benefit from the program, contact Jill Hampton by email at jill@mcysb.org or call 765-362-0694, ext. 103.
