Kari Danielle Kiger, 41, of Crawfordsville, formerly of Waveland, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2025.
Kari was born July 8, 1983, in Clinton, to Robert M. Kiger Jr. and Donna L. Jenkins.
Kari was a 2002 graduate of Turkey Run High School. She received an associate degree in business administration from Ivy Tech.
Kari loved gardening, especially her flower garden. She enjoyed studying her Bible. Kari was a very compassionate person. Her children and family were most important to her. She was loved by all who knew her. She will be missed by all who have had the chance to meet her.
Survivors include: her long-time companion, David M. Volkel; two children, Autumn R. Volkel and Drake X. Volkel; her mother and step-father, Donna L. Jenkins (Walter); two sisters, Krista D. Kiger and Kelly D. Volkel (Mark); a close family friend, Donna K. Whitmer; nieces and nephew, Brittney S. Volkel (Jake Skyles), Justin Volkel (Corissa), Cameron N. Russell (J.C.), Jessica R. Crews, Logan A. Strow, Jacob D. Crews (Yoail); 10 great nieces and nephews; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Kari was preceded in death by her father, Robert M. Kiger Jr.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 19 at Machledt & Servies Funeral and Cremation Services, 301 E. Green St., Waveland, with Pastor Rodney Coffman officiating. Burial will follow in Wolf Creek Cemetery near Waveland. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
