Katherine “Katy” White of Crawfordsville passed away Saturday morning, Aug. 31, 2024, at home. She was 91.
Katy worked at Mid-States for several years. A member of Grace Baptist Church in Darlington, she later attended First Baptist Church of Crawfordsville and North Cornerstone Church in Linden. She liked to read, do puzzles and go for walks. In her later years she spent much of her time watching ballgames, especially the Purdue Boilermakers, St. Louis Cardinals and Caitlin Clark.
Born June 18, 1933, at Crawfordsville, she was the daughter of the Rev. Dick Baker and Clara E. Baker. She graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1951. She married Max E. White on March 21, 1953. He passed away March 18, 2006.
Surviving family includes: three daughters, Jeanne (Jim) Martin of Attica, Susan Kiser of Lafayette and Dawn (Dave) Young of Linden; son Mike White of Crawfordsville; brother Dick (Ann) Baker of Crawfordsville; six grandchildren, Nicole (Shaun) Ratcliff, Samantha Young, Drew (Lauren) Young, Kyle Kiser, Kane (Samantha) Kiser and Kinzie (Jeff) Kincaid; step-grandson Trystan Martin; great-grandchildren, Chesney, Shayna, Gracie, Savanah, Larkin, Klaire, Lainey, Emery and Dylan: step-great-grandchild Nathan; and step-great-great-grandchild Zeplyn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-in-law Scott Kiser; and step-great-grandson Jacob Martin.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Sept. 4 at Burkhart Funeral Home, 201 W. Wabash Ave. Services will begin at noon, led by Pastor Duane Abston. After the service, she will be laid to rest at the Linden Cemetery.
