Kathy Lynne White Lyons, 66, died Wednesday, July 2, 2025, with family by her side.
Kathy was born March 12, 1959, in Crawfordsville, to the late Charles and Mary (Harlan) White.
Kathy graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1977. Following high school, she worked at Coast to Coast for 10 years, on the line as a picker.
Driven by a passion for science and a desire to help others, Kathy enrolled at Purdue University, where she pursued a degree in pharmacology. In 1995, after years of determination and perseverance, she proudly graduated, marking a major milestone in her life. Kathy went on to serve her community as a trusted pharmacist at Walmart for 30 years. Known for her kindness, professionalism, and deep knowledge, she became a familiar and comforting presence to countless customers who relied on her care and guidance. Kathy’s long-standing service has left a lasting impact on both colleagues and customers alike.
Kathy married the love of her life, Randall Scott Lyons, on July 9, 1978. They remained happily married for 47 years. Kathy was a mother to two children, Forrest Robert Lyons and Sarah Marie Lyons (Michael R. McKain), and a grandmother to three grandchildren, Emma Lyons, Forrest Lyons Jr. and Kendalynn Lyons-McKain. She loved her family dearly, creating cherished memories of cruises, trips to Disney World, holidays at home, and summers at the lake.
Kathy loved to travel, always excited for the next adventure with Scott, her children, her grandchildren, her lifelong friends — Jerry and Jolene Pickett, and her sister, Jane White.
She loved antiques and was always excited to explore local antique stores and flea markets for her next big find, and sharing those finds with her sister, Sue (White) Tapia.
What Kathy loved most was spending time with her family and friends. She was the hostess for every large gathering, opening her home to everyone. She loved spending time with her husband and best friends, Jerry and Jolene, playing cards, telling stories, and cutting up. Kathy will be remembered as a rock for the people in her life — providing love, care, and stability for those fortunate enough to have known her.
