Kenneth Guy Hutson, 85, formerly of rural Veedersburg and Lafayette, passed away at 3:32 a.m. Monday, April 14, 2025, in Whitlock Place, Crawfordsville.
He was born Nov. 12, 1939, in Hillsboro, son of the late Harry V. and Daisy Undine Harding Hutson. He married Brenda Kay Cunningham in the West Point United Methodist Church Sept. 6, 1959. She preceded him in death Aug. 19, 2020.
Kenny was a graduate of Richland Township High School and was employed by Claypool Chevrolet in Newtown for five years. He spent the next 11 years working at C&D Battery in Attica, then retired from Eli Lily & Co. after 27 1/2 years. He also operated his farm just outside of Veedersburg while employed full-time.
Kenny was a member of the Lafayette Eagles, was fun loving and lived life to the fullest. He was a Godly man and treated everyone with dignity and respect and wasn’t afraid to speak his mind. He and his wife loved to travel … they spent summers in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan and winters in Florida in their motor home at Lakeland and Port Charlotte.
Surviving are: his grandchildren, Levi (Kisha) Hutson and Lindsey (Craig) Beck, both of rural Crawfordsville, and Jennifer Hutson of Crawfordsville; great-grandchildren, Caidence, Makenna, Graysen and Ada Hutson; daughter-in-law Davida Hutson of Brownsburg; and sisters, Margaret Starkey of LaSalle, Illinois and Carson Hoskins of Alamo.
He was preceded in death by his wife Brenda; parents; son Kenton; half brothers, Harold and Melvin; and siblings, Lena, Evlaia, Brooky, Margaret, Joel and Jim.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 26 at Family and Friends Funeral Home of Wingate. Memorial service to follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Tom Covington officiating. Graveside service at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery will follow.
Memorials in memory of Kenny are preferred to Riley Children’s Hospital, Indianapolis.
