Sigma Chapter of Kappa Kappa Kappa, Inc. met Oct. 15 at the Ladoga Christian Church for the annual corporation meeting. The members of the board of directors are Judy Goshorn, President; Sarah Fadil, Vice President; Dixie Ruggles, Secretary; Nedra Richardson, Treasurer; Eleanor Brewer, Corresponding Secretary. The officers of the chapter shall be the Directors and Officers of the Corporation. The savings account at Hoosier Heartland State Bank is used for scholarships. The checking account is used for day to day business. President Judy Goshorn called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.
The minutes from the Sept. 17 meeting were approved as emailed.
Correspondence: Nedra Richardson read a letter from Ladoga Public Librarian Megan Noggle asking for donations for a Young Authors Camp for third-fifth graders. Indiana children’s author Kim Howard will present the workshop at Ladoga and Walnut Elementaries and the Ladoga Library will host a weeklong after-school workshop for aspiring young authors. A donation was made.
President Goshorn presented a star fish pin to Nedra Richardson for her membership enrollment in Riley Hospital Cheer Guild.
Unfinished business: Plans were finalized for the donation and distribution of candy at the harvest party at Southmont High School on Nov. 1.
New business: Province officer Nichole Keller asked each chapter in Province V to donate an item for a basket to be raffled at the State Convention. Several items were suggested for the “Fun With Your Family” basket. Judy Goshorn will purchase games and decks of cards. Gift ideas for Nichole were discussed.
State is requiring a member from each chapter to apply for a state office. President Goshorn will send information to each Sigma member.
Closing: The meeting closed at 8:15 p.m. The next meeting is at the Renaissance Gallery in Ladoga on Nov. 19 at 7:30 p.m. with the officers as hostesses. The meeting is chapter review and is mandatory. Officers met after the meeting closed and made plans for the chapter review.
