Laura A. Markey, 90, of Crawfordsville passed away Friday, Dec. 18, 2020, at the Lane House.
She was born Nov. 25, 1930, at Dayton, Ohio, to William and Marion Markey. Laura graduated from Ladoga High School in 1949.
Due to a birth injury, Laura was dogged by mental problems all her life. However, the Lord gifted her with musical talent. As a child, when she would sing and dance, people would say that she was another Shirley Temple. As an adult, she played the piano in church and sang duets with her mother.
Laura is survived by sister Rhonda (Michael) Clark of Carmel; sister-in-law Pamela Markey (a missionary in Soviet Georgia); and several nieces and nephews.
Laura was preceded in death by both of her parents and brother Pastor George Markey.
The family would like to thank the Lane House for their wonderful care of Laura during the last 20 years.
There will be a private service with burial at New Ross Cemetery. Sanders Priebe Funeral Care entrusted with care.
