LaVerna “Betty” R. Tucker, a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, 103, of Crawfordsville, passed away Friday, April 25, 2025, at Ben Hur Nursing Home, while surrounded by her loving family.
She was born March 30, 1922, on her family farm, to Glenn and Montoma (Sink) Clough.
In 1940 Betty graduated from Alamo High School. Betty married Max W. Tucker on Nov. 22, 1945. He preceded her in death on Feb. 28, 2003. They were blessed with one child.
Betty was an active member of the Moose Lodge and the Athens Chapter #97 Eastern Star for over 50 years. She was an avid Bingo player and loved to travel with her grandchildren.
Betty is survived by her only child, Shelia (Reid) Wilson; five grandchildren, Jimmy (Shirley) Sarver, Jason (Brandi) Wilson, Alissa (Mike) Brock, Jeremy Wilson and Nick (Megan) Wilson; nine great-grandchildren, Jessica (David) Mayes, Abigail (Noah) Moore-Benge, Sydney Newton, Mitchell (Isabel) Newton, Olivia (Jacob) Brock, Ashton Wilson, Chance Brock, Max Wilson, and Oliver Wilson; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Max Tucker; and brother Bob Clough.
Visitation will be 3-6 p.m. Monday, April 28 at Sanders Funeral Care, 315 S. Washington St. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 29 at the funeral home, with Pastor Kevin Howey officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Grant Cemetery.
