U.S. Representative Jim Baird, left, and Indiana State Rep. Beau Baird visited Hose Elementary on Friday to take part in Leaders as Readers. Leaders as Readers is a program that was introduced by Crawfordsville School Superintendent Dr. Rex Ryker, and is in it’s second year. The program invites community leaders into classrooms to help create a fun learning environment for students and to expand their community connection. The two legislators each read to a first-grade class, they chose the book “The Boo-Boos That Changed The World (A true story about an accidental invention (really!)” by Barry Wittenstein. Before leaving, they donated a box of books to the students.
