There is a current bill being considered to aggressively impact both township trustee power being placed under the control of a county administrator. More importantly the service and control of local fire protection in our county appears to be driven to a centralized model.
Change can be great if it is not selected and well planned for everyone.Perhaps the township trustee system is a thing of the past and we can do better in servicing our community.
I admit I am extremely biased by the growth and explosion potential on the south side of Crawfordsville. I Just don’t want to see us walk away of the needs of the people as a whole, particularly when communities struggle and subdivisions thrive. It is a fine balancing act.
I know as chair of the Scott Township advisory board, I have not been contacted by anyone from any level of representatives of Montgomery County, state or local concerning township government.
Plans appear to be in full motion with announcements to come.
