Letter: Candidate for trustee shares her views

I agree with Mayor Todd Barton that much is at stake in this election for Union Township Trustee, especially in the area of fire and EMS protection for all of Union Township. And I also strongly urge you to ponder on who to support.

One word has been brought up many times in reference to my running — experience. The definition of experience is: the skill or knowledge gained by actually doing what the job requires of someone and allows you to grow and evolve. Better known as “on the job training.” Many of us can say this is how we became “experienced” in our job. Many politicians have also begun their “career” without experience and have had to learn and gain knowledge while in that office.

In my experience, being professional and having good customer service skills goes hand in hand when dealing with the public or anyone for that matter. The U.S. Department of Labor says, “It means communicating effectively and appropriately and always finding a way to be productive. Employers want new workers to be responsible, ethical and team-oriented and to possess strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.”

What I bring is a new heart to and for our community, a willingness to learn and a new approach to broaden and strengthen all of Union Township in fire, EMS and community assistance. I want to help our community to grow, learn and progress to be stronger for a better future for all of us. I am asking you to help me do this with your vote. It’s time for a change.
