At the end of this year, I will have completed eight years serving Montgomery County as a District 3 Councilman. I am pleased that Steve Loy has decided to be a Republican candidate for this seat at this spring’s primary election. I can think of no one that is more qualified for this position.
Steve and his wife Jacki have been friends and neighbors of mine for over 40 years. Steve has always been community minded when it comes to making Montgomery County an ideal place to live, work and raise a family. Steve has been involved in numerous community organizations, including Montgomery County Economic Development, Montgomery County Community Foundation, Montgomery County Planning Commission, Ivy Tech Advisory group plus being involved in the Linden Methodist Church to name a few.
Just ask anyone in our neighborhood and they will all tell you that Steve is someone you can always count on whenever you need help. I know he has come to my rescue many times. The county council’s main duty is to oversee the finances of the county. Steve retired as president of our local Chase Bank which would make him a logical choice to be part of the team that directs the county’s budget.
