I write in response to an article in the Nov. 30 issue of the Journal Review — “Fountain-Warren Counties seek health department administrator.”
It is a concern to me that the county commissioners are expecting the well qualified and caring Bi-County Health Official, Dr. Sean Sharma, to sugarcoat what has actually been the truth, as he is trying to protect our community at this stressful time. He has, in addition, successfully worked with industry and the local school systems to help us provide a safer environment regarding COVID-19.
Politicians can indeed want things to “sound” better. Unless Dr. Sharma and the health department advise it, adding an unnecessary position seems wrong. Instead, it would seem better to show appreciation to those individuals in the health department, dedicated to the well-being of our community.
