Letter: Petrie uniquely qualified for judge

Posted

I heartily endorse and solicit your vote for Daniel Petrie as Judge of Montgomery Superior Court II.

Petrie originates from Montgomery County, and is familiar with its residents, history and culture. Graduating from Crawfordsville and Wabash College, he is experienced, knowledgeable, fair and uniquely qualified. Having practiced law several years with Petrie, I have observed and admired his intelligence, his sense of justice, his willingness to help those in need and his physical and emotional drive to do the right, fair and just thing not only in his law practice but in his relationships with others.

As a fellow member of First Christian Church in Crawfordsville, I’ve watched Petire not only profess but live out a Christian life. His involvement in many civic organizations, knowledge of the law combined with his intelligence and common sense, transforms his broad experience dealing with people and their relationship with the judicial system into a unique opportunity for our community by his election. Petrie, as judge, would place a qualified person on the bench that thinks critically, acts responsibly, leads effectively and who would enhance our community’s ability to live humanely.

I admit this recommendation comes with mixed emotions because Petrie is a friend, has practiced law in our law offices and, upon his election, I will truly miss his daily presence, his professionalism, knowledge, relationship with clients, along with his emotional drive to see justice prevail which he shared working together. Nevertheless, the community needs the energy and temperament of a qualified person willing to work hard for justice from the bench that Petrie would bring as Judge of the Montgomery Superior Court II. Therefore, I endorse and respectfully ask for your support and election of Petrie as judge.
