This is an open letter to the guy on the motorcycle who honked his horn and then flipped off a 12-year-old kid getting off the school bus this Monday afternoon in front of his house, where we display a Harris/Walz lawn sign:
That was our son. He was alarmed by what you did. We can understand that you disagree with our political views. That is something that happens in a democracy. We have a harder time imagining what it takes to be hateful and threatening toward a child.
No matter who wins this election, you flipped off a 12-year-old because you disagreed with his parents’ voter preferences.
Is this who you want to be?
