With the Fourth of July recently observed, it reminded me of the Pledge of Allegiance. When I was in grade school (a very long time ago, and no it wasn’t a one-room school), every morning we would stand and recite the Pledge. I’m not sure they do that today or even if its allowed because it mentions “God.” Funny they can’t mention His name but many say it in one form or another all of the time (OMG).
So, my wife and I came up with a new “Pledge of Allegiance” not to replace the other but to have with it.
“I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”
The new one to use with the original ... maybe it will unite our country more with each other and with God to make it strong once more.
“I pledge allegiance to my God, the Lord of Heaven and Earth, and to His Kingdom which will stand, all nations under God, indivisible, with salvation and freedom for all.”
