As voting begins I encourage you to vote for Summer Ervin for Montgomery County Council. I’ve known Ervin for several years. We’ve worked on various community projects, and I’ve been very impressed by her strong work ethic, her commitment to our community, her integrity and her willingness to listen.
She has the kind of job experiences that perfectly prepare her for this position. One of the main duties of the county council is to create and monitor the county’s budgets. As an executive at Eli Lilly for almost 20 years, Ervin successfully managed a large department and budget. She will be an excellent steward of our tax dollars.
As a life long resident of Montgomery County, she knows what has worked and what can be improved in our community, from roads, to education, to local businesses. A mother of three, all of whom attend local schools, she cares deeply about the needs of our students, teachers and staff, and has creative ideas about meeting those needs.
As a Purdue graduate with a bachelor’s degree in health science, and holder of a master’s degree in public health, Ervin is uniquely suited to lead during these difficult times. She could contribute to the team that is coordinating our response to the pandemic, and will be able to anticipate and deal with any health related issues in the future.
Ervin is serious about her commitment to public service, yet has an easy-going, welcoming personality. She will bring people together to work for the good of all in Montgomery County. She will work hard, and be a devoted public servant for years to come. Please give her your vote.
