Lewis to be inducted into Indiana Sportswriters Hall of Fame

The Indiana Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association has named its ten individuals who will be inducted into the the Class of 2022 Hall of Fame on Sunday Apr. 10 at Valle Vista Country Club in Greenwood.

One of those honorees is Montgomery’s County’s own Barry Lewis. Lewis has been the go-to historian for Montgomery County sports and has spent his over half of 40-plus year career working with the Journal Review in many capacitites.

Lewis is a member of the Southmont Athletics Hall of Fame and the Montgomery County Basketball Hall of Fame.

In addition to helping cover high school sports in Montgomery County, Lewis is still helps out as the Code Enforcement Officer for the city of Crawfordsville.

The other five recipients being inducted into the ISSAA Hall of Fame include Dave Calabro (WTHR-TV), Eric Hansen (South Bend Tribune), Jeff Jeffers (WNDU-TV), Rob Weaver (WPGW Radio), and David Woods (Indianapolis Star).
