A Linden man is set to be arraigned today on a list of felony charges after allegedly trying to flee police serving warrants on him at a Crawfordsville motel.

Jeremy M. Bartlett, 41, will make his initial appearance at 8:30 a.m. in Montgomery Superior Court 2.

Bartlett was arrested by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Friday after Crawfordsville detectives learned that a man with active warrants was traveling to the Crawfordsville Motel on East U.S. 136, according to a press release from Crawfordsville Police.

A red Pontiac G8 later arrived at the motel, police said. When a Montgomery County sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop the car, the driver allegedly tried to flee and damaged the deputy’s vehicle.

As additional officers arrived on the scene, the fleeing driver collided with a sheriff detective’s vehicle in the parking lot, rendering the Pontiac inoperable, police said.

Bartlett was wanted in Montgomery County on felony charges of burglary and intimidation and misdemeanor charges of theft and criminal mischief, court records show.

He faces additional felony charges of dealing and possession of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon and carrying a handgun with a prior felony conviction.

Other felony charges include resisting law enforcement, criminal recklessness committed with a deadly weapon, unlawful possession of a syringe and unlawful possession or use of a legend drug.

He also faces misdemeanor charges of resisting law enforcement and possession of paraphernalia with a prior conviction.

Bartlett remained held Wednesday in the Montgomery County Jail.
