Little Giants remain unbeaten with wins over Greenville, Maranatha Baptist

The Wabash College volleyball team added two more wins to its season totals to improve to 7-0 for the season with 3-0 victories over Greenville University and Maranatha Baptist University Saturday afternoon at Chadwick Court.

The 7-0 start is the best in program history, while the seven consecutive victories eclipsed a six-game winning streak from last season after the Little Giants suffered a season-opening loss to Thomas More University.

Wabash earned a 25-13 in the first set of the rematch against Greenville (1-7) one week after defeating the Panthers 3-1 at Chadwick Court. The Little Giants scored a 25-22 win in the second set before closing out the match with a 25-19 victory.

Patrick Volk paced the offense with eight kills. Andrew Hostetler added seven kills, and Zav Wolverton finished with six. Graham Volk handed out a team-best 13 assists. Will Beikes gave out 10 assists, and Matthew Stitle finished with eight. Liberos Piotr Wolan and Christopher Board each made six digs to lead the Wabash defense.

Wabash never trailed in its first set against Maranatha Baptist (0-7) to earn a 25-9 win. The Little Giants won set two 25-14 and claimed a 3-0 sweep with a 25-13 victory in the final set. Hostetler led the Little Giants with nine kills. Evan Rauwolf picked up seven kills, and Jackson Leeper added six kills. Graham Volk scored a team-best 12 assists, with Beikes adding another 10. Trezdin Hair made a team-best seven digs.

Wabash returns to action with a pair of matches Sunday at Illinois Wesleyan University. The Little Giants open against Benedictine University at 2:30 p.m. Central Time, followed by a match against the host Titans at 5 p.m.
