Crawfordsville Mayor Todd Barton will present the State of the City Address and Montgomery County Administrator Tom Klein will present the State of the County Address at 7 p.m. today on WCDQ 106.3 FM.
“I think it is a good opportunity to talk about our accomplishments in infrastructure and economic development,” Klein said. “It is important to keep people informed and the county appreciates Dave Peach at the radio station to help us broadcast it locally.”
Mayor Todd Barton expects to speak about successes, he will give listeners information about what the city is working on for 2023.
Before the COVID outbreak, the addresses were presented at Crawfordsville High School and sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Montgomery County. This will be the third consecutive year the event will be broadcast on radio instead of at a live venue. Peach will be the host of the event at the WCDQ radio station.
“Airing the speeches is a good way to get this information available,” Peach said. “We will have the speeches on Thursday but also will replay the addresses at 4 p.m. and
7 p.m. the following Monday on WCVL 92.1 FM.”
Peach said the addresses also will be downloaded on the WCDQ Facebook page so anyone can listen at their own convenience.
Barton will speak first followed by Klein.
The mayor’s comments will be posted at www.crawfordsville.net as a podcast.
Klein said his talking points will be available in the format of a Powerpoint presentation with more in-depth information at www.montgomerycounty.in.gov.
