The North Montgomery boys’ tennis team fell to Lebanon 4-1 on Monday night to close out the regular season.
Beckett Martin won 6-3, 6-4 over Owen Bigler at No. 3 singles. The freshman posted a 5-5 regular season record, including 4-2 in the SAC.
At No. 1 singles, Will McKinniss fell to John Gascho 6-3, 6-1, while Hayden Turner lost 6-0, 6-0 to Matthew Barber at No. 2 singles.
The duo of Brookes Walters and Nate McCoy fell 6-2, 6-2 to Jackson Shepherd and Jack Ferrell at No. 1 doubles, while Haze Kashon and Jaxin Wethington lost to Mathias Baldwin and David Garcia 6-2, 6-0 at No. 2 doubles.
Athenians fall to Terre Haute North
The Crawfordsville boys’ tennis team lost to Terre Haute North 4-1 on Monday.
James Murphy won 6-2, 6-2 over Mark Hankins at No. 1 singles.
Wyatt Motz fell 6-1, 6-1 to Reece Bradley at No. 2 singles, while James Novak fell 6-0, 6-0 to Connor Bishop at No. 3 singles.
The duo of Ziair Morgan and Thatcher Gambrel fell 6-4, 6-4 to Cole Marts and Mason Lubbehusen at No. 1 doubles, while Thomas Bowling and Jude Hutchison fell 6-2, 6-3 to John Lee and Clayton Stultz at No. 2 doubles.
Prickett, Merryman WRC runner-up
Fountain Central’s Brayden Prickett and Carter Merryman were runner-ups in the Wabash River Conference doubles tournament that concluded Monday night at Fountain Central.
The duo beat Parke Heritage 6-4, 6-3 in the semi-finals, before falling to Covington’s Nolan and Myles Potter 6-0, 6-0 in the finals.
