Chargers stay perfect
The North Montgomery baseball team won its third-straight game to start the season on Friday night, beating Benton Central 19-9 in five innings.
The Chargers took advantage of 20 walks issued by Bison pitchers — scoring runs in all five at-bats, including an eight-run third.
Offensively Brookes Walters led the Chargers with three hits and four RBI, while Jacob Braun added four RBI.
Jakob Kirsch picked up the win on the mound, allowing six runs, four of which were earned, on four hits, while striking out two.
Mounties fall on the road
The Southmont baseball team lost 20-2 at Clinton Prairie on Friday night.
Mason Hall had two hits to lead the Mounties.

Mustangs fall to Spartans
The Fountain Central softball team lost at North Newton 13-9 on Friday.
Maddie Medley led the Mustangs with three hits, while Shelby Marshall and Haley Webb each had a pair of hits.
