LOCAL ROUNDUP: Chargers, Mustangs pick up tennis wins, Mountie golf records ace

McKinney records hole-in-one

Southmont junior Carson McKinney had a hole-in-one in practice on Monday night at the Crawfordsville Country Club.

McKinney aced the 145-yard No. 17 Par-3. Nolan Allen and Ian Stull were witnesses.

Mustangs compete in Bi-County Round 1

The Fountain Central boys’ golf team competed in the first round of the Bi-County on Monday evening.

The Mustangs shot a season-best 188. Jacob Keeling led the way with a 43, while Cody Linville soht a 46 and Matt York a 48. Nathan Summers fired a 51 and Wesley Jackson a 52.

Mustangs fall to Eagles

The Fountain Central softball team fell 5-2 at South Putnam on Monday night.

Jerzi Hershberger led the Mustangs with two hits.

Chargers beat Oracles

The North Montgomery girls’ tennis team defeated Delphi on Monday night.

Kaitlyn Greenlee defeated Elyse Perry 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, while Sydnee Turner beat Katlyn Shernian 6-2, 6-0 at the No. 2 position, and Carlie DeSmet defeated Ryn Zimbfer 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 singles.

The duo of Joy Davis and Allison Guard beat Sarah Howard and Kenzy Miller 6-1, 6-3 at No. 1 doubles.

Mustangs beat Wildcats

The Fountain Central girls’ tennis team picked up a 3-2 Wabash River Conference win over South Vermillion on Monday night.

Haley Webb won 6-0, 6-0 over Jessica Servis at No. 2 singles, while Angela Gonzalez beat Dree Wilson 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles.

Tyler Bowling and Marylee Muniz won in three sets 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 over Samantha Sexton and Hannah Servis at No. 2 doubles to seal the win.
