Mounties beat Eagles on links

The Southmont girl’s golf team defeated South Putnam on Wednesday 188-233.

Erin Williams led the Mounties and was the meet medalist with a low-score of 42. Carson White fired a 45, while Erin Rusk shot a 47. 

Bailey Thompson had a 49, while Logan Berrisford shot a 51. Macie Shirk and Taylor Grino each fired a 54.

Mustangs fall to Mavericks

The Fountain Central boy’s tennis team opened the season with a 3-2 loss to McCutcheon on Wednesday.

Jacob Keeling and Denton Otero won at No. 1 doubles with a 6-3, 6-2 defeat of Connor Devlin and Jake O’Donnell. Sawyer Keeling and CJ Yager defeated Gavri Nadalo and Finn Devlin at No. 2 doubles.

Carson Eberly fell at No. 1 singles to Gavin Dardeen 6-1, 6-2, while Cody Linville was defeated by John Shambuagh 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2 singles. In the No. 3 spot, Brent Myers fell to Joe Sanson 6-0, 6-1.

Chargers fall at Pike

The North Montgomery boy’s tennis team dropped their season opener 5-0 at Pike on Wednesday. 

Jakob Kirsch fell 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, while Hunter Kashon lost 6-0, 6-0 to David Russ at No. 2 singles. At No. 3 singles, Carter Livingston fell to Nick Sadenwater 6-1, 6-0.

The duo of Haze Kashon and Brooks Walters fell 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles to Quentin Bunin and Je’Koby York, while Hayden Turner and Ben Eldridge fell 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 doubles to Caulin Geer, and Alex Villalva.
