Allen’s season comes to close at regional

Southmont sophomore Faith Allen placed 11th at the Lafayette Jeff girls’ track and field regional on Tuesday night in the 3200 meter run.

Mavs edge Athenians on links

Crawfordsville boys’ golf dropped a dual-match 186-187 to McCutcheon at the Trophy Club on Tuesday.

Luke Ranard was the meet medalist and led the Athenians with a low score of 42.

Landon Timmons fired a 47 and Braxton Smith a 48. Landon Hurt shot a 50, Hayden Jeffries a 51, and Marshall Horton a 62.

“We didn’t play badly n the windy conditions, and it’s a tough course,” Crawfordsville coach Tom Perkins said. “We stress keeping the big scores off the card. Today, too many guys threw triple bogeys in the mix. We’ll learn from that. I’m happy where we are heading into county and sectional.”

Chargers pick up two wins

The North Montgomery boys’ golf team fired a 189 on Tuesday and defeated Bethesda Christian (211) and Sheridan (232).

Hayden Turner led the Chargers with a 42, while Haze Kashon fired a 45. Colin Campbell, Drew Norman, and Thomas Fritzen each fired 51s, while Jacob Hughes shot a 57.
