LOCAL SPORTS: County swimming teams swept

Athenians swept by Bulldogs

The Crawfordsville boys’ and girls’ swimming and diving teams were swept by Brownsburg on Thursday. The boys lost 129-48 and the girls fell 144-18.

Alyx Bannon was the lone winner for the Athenians, winning the girls’ 100 freestyle in a time of 56.64 seconds.

Chargers swept by Tigers

Lebanon swept both North Montgomery boys’ and girls’ swimming and diving teams on Thursday. The Tiger Sharks won the boys’ meet 146-33 and the girls’ 112-68.

Maggie Michael won bot the 200 and 500 freestyle relay, while Sidney Campbell won the 100 breaststroke. Michael, Annabel Anderson, Kelsey Anderson, and Campbell swam to a win in the 400 freestyle relay, while Campbell, Annabel Anderson, Michael, and Madelynn Mershon won the 200 freestyle relay. 

Mounties swept by Stars

The Southmont boys’ and girls’ swimming and diving teams were swept by Western Boone on Thursday. The boys lost 91-68 and the girls lost 106-79.

On the girls’ side, Bailey Barker won the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:40.27, while Megan Scheidler won the 100 freestyle in 1:00.88. Jordan Stanley won the diving with a mark of 213.75.

On the boys’ side, Trent Jones, Eyan Endicott, John Servies, and Aaron Evans won the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:46.12. Jones also won the 50 freestyle in 23.24 seconds and the 100 butterfly in 56.32 seconds. Endicott won the 100 freestyle in 1:01.05, while Servies won the 200 freestyle in 2:15.3 and the 500 freestyle in 6:12.89. Logan Harman won the 200 individual medley in 2:34.94.
